Aston Villa backed to sign Tuanzebe amid 'brilliant news' from Man United - Kenny
Axel Tuanzebe’s connections with Aston Villa will prove a big draw as they attempt to lure him from Man United.
That is according to ex-Premier League goalkeeper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively after Football Insider revealed the latest in Villa’s pursuit of their former loanee on 5th July.
A Villa source told this site that the club have been given encouragement that United are planning to let Tuanzebe go in the current window.
That comes after Football Insider revealed on 29th June that Villa have a “concrete” interest in the versatile defender and favourite of Dean Smith.
Tuanzebe, who has a year remaining on his current deal, featured 35 times for Villa across two successful loan spells in 2017-18 and 2018-19.
And Kenny insists that his experience for Dean Smith’s promotion-winning side bodes well as they attempt to broker a transfer.

“That have an edge now with that, which is brilliant news,” he told Football Insider correspondent Adam Williams.
“It’s always nice if you know the staff, the players and the place itself. He had a good season there when they got promoted so it could push it their way.
“Villa getting their business done early is a great idea. I don’t see why he wouldn’t want to go there and play Premier League football.
“He’s not played a lot for Man United, he’s only played a handful of matches really. So it would be a good one.
“He’s getting towards that age where you want to start playing regularly.“
Tuanzebe made 19 appearances for United last season.
However, just four of those were as a starter in the Premier League.
