Aston Villa look set to lose at least one of Jack Grealish and John McGinn this summer.

That is the view of former Spurs and England number one Paul Robinson, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about Dean Smith's side's pursuit of Arsenal 20-year-old Emile Smith Rowe.

Villa have had two bids rejected for the England Under-21 international this summer.

According to the Sunday Mirror (print edition – 4/7/21 p. 76), the Midlands giants are set to test the Gunners resolve with a third bid worth £32.5million.

Smith Rowe has two years remaining on his contract at the Emirates and the club are keen to get him tied down to new terms.

When asked by Football Insider correspondent Dylan Childs for his assessment of Smith Rowe's future, Robinson said:

"Aston Villa are getting encouragement from somewhere whether that be Arsenal or the player's representatives.

"There is talk about Grealish and McGinn going and if Smith Rowe comes in, it tells me that at least one of them is going.

"I know Villa have lots of money but if they're after Smith Rowe at least one of Grealish and McGinn will be flying the nest."

Grealish is one of Pep Guardiola's top targets at Manchester City this summer while Liverpool are admirers of McGinn.

Both players put pen to paper on new long-term contracts at Villa Park last year.
