Aston Villa in hunt for 11 goal forward, available for January switch from PL club - reliable journalist
Aston Villa are in pursuit of Bournemouth forward Lewis Grabban, according to a reliable journalist.
Sun reporter Alan Nixon claimed on his personal Twitter account on Sunday that Grabban, 29, is available for a move in January even though he is currently on loan at Championship strugglers Sunderland.
Grabban has been in great form while on loan at Sunderland in the first half of the season, scoring 11 goals in 17 Championship appearances.
However it seems that Premier League side Bournemouth are willing to cash in on his good goal scoring record by flogging him for good when the January transfer window opens in a few weeks’ time.
Aston Villa have struggled to find consistency among their strikers this season with Jonathan Kodjia constantly injured and Scott Hogan unable to find any goalscoring rhythm.
Keinan Davis has regularly started up front for the Villains but even he has scored just two league goals this season.

Football Insider Verdict
It’s clear that Aston Villa need a striker in January in order to supply the goals to help them achieve promotion. At the moment, the Villains only seem to be able to pick up points when Albert Adomah is on the scoresheet, but he cannot be solely relied upon and Steve Bruce must start looking for a hitman next month. Grabban has done really well with Sunderland this season even though their results have been terrible. It may be a bit tricky to get a deal done considering he is on loan at the Stadium of Light but Bournemouth could maybe find a way to break that deal if a decent permanent offer comes in.
