Aston Villa will hold talks this week over a "lethal" new forward signing, sources have told Football Insider.

The Midlands giants are continuing a huge summer overhaul as the club prepares for Champions League football, and an attacker is high on the agenda for Unai Emery.

The Villa boss and the club’s recruitment chief Monchi both are working on recruiting a “lethal” attacker who can play wide and down the middle.

The Villa forward is currently being monitored by Chelsea and West Ham currently, and he is unhappy with his lack of game time at Villa Park.

Aston Villa are considering signing Nico Williams to rocket-fuel their attack

One name that the Premier League outfit are interested in is Nico Williams, who is someone Villa have monitored for a long time.

The Spain international has a £49million release clause in his Athletic Bilbao contract, but he does have several notable teams chasing him this summer.

Villa’s summer overhaul could lead to more exits taking place in this window, with Matty Cash potentially being another casualty.
