Fulham could table a cash bid for Aston Villa striker Ross McCormack by Sunday – and fans on Twitter have provided mixed views.
The Sun claim that the London-based club want to re-sign the 30-year-old and are eyeing a loan swoop as his struggles at Villa Park continue.
But it is said that Fulham could also come up with a cash offer this week, although, due to the size of McCormack’s wages, they would prefer a short-term deal.
One fan on social media stated that he cannot see the out-of-form striker returning to Craven Cottage in what would be a sensational return to London.
McCormack made a £12million summer move from the Whites to Villa Park for a then Championship record.
As a result, one supporter felt that possibility of loaning the Scotsman back to his previous club would be bizarre, especially considering the huge fee that was paid for his services.
Furthermore, another fan stated that he would drive the player down to London had Villa not been so short on strikers.
At this moment in time, Steve Bruce only has two recognised senior forwards to choose from in McCormack and Gabby Agbonlahor.
Star man Jonathan Kodjia is away at the Africa Cup on Nations, along with versatile attacker Jordan Ayew.
Kodjia has scored nine league goals this season, including one in his last outing and Villa have failed to score since his departure.
Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:
It would be so bizarre to loan McCormack to a club also trying to get into the play offs, especially as we paid them over £10m for him #avfc

As much as it's not worked for McCormack yet at Villa, I can't see them selling him to anyone who could possibly rival us for the playoffs.

I can't see that happening
