Aston Villa could finally lose Emiliano Martinez in the upcoming transfer window.

There has been speculation around the 33-year-old's future at the Villans for a while now and it looks like he will finally be on his way out of the B6 club in the summer.

The World Cup-winner has been a key player for Unai Emery at the Lions and the recruitment team will certainly have a massive task on their hands to find his successor.

It's clear that the Villa Park hierarchy have no time to waste in their search for Martinez's replacement at the B6 club as he has reportedly reached an agreement elsewhere.

The Argentina international has been pivotal to the Villans' success over the years, winning the Europa League title in the 2025-26 campaign, and it surely won't be easy for any player to fill his eventual void.

Emery will be hoping to be backed in the transfer window after ending the Lions' 30-year trophy drought and signing a quality shot-stopper should be top of the agenda for NSWE.

Emiliano Martinez reaches contract agreement away from Aston Villa

Martinez reportedly feels Juventus is the perfect next stop for him to end his career after a successful period with Argentina and Villa.

The goalkeeper has apparently accepted a three-year contract at the Allianz Stadium on a salary expected to be lower than his current one.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio on 9 June, an agreement between Martinez and Juventus has practically been reached and they are increasingly close to signing him.

The Serie A outfit want to sign the shot-stopper for free, given his age, but his contract at Villa Park still has three years left on it.

Unai Emery may have perfect Emiliano Martinez successor

Sources told Football Insider at the start of May that Villa were keeping an eye on James Trafford as a potential replacement for Martinez in the summer.

The Manchester City shot-stopper has struggled for minutes at the Etihad Stadium, but has shown glimpses of his talent during his time under Pep Guardiola and previously at Burnley.

Trafford, 23, is considered a modern-day goalkeeper with relatively impressive abilities with the ball at his feet and he may be exactly who Emery will want to make progress at Villa Park in the coming years.
