Aston Villa to replace Emiliano Buendia with Crysencio Summerville as exit highly likely - verdict
Aston Villa could cash in on Emiliano Buendia in the upcoming transfer window.
It has been reported that the Villans will hold talks with the Argentina international over a new contract after the end of June, with his current deal expiring in 2027.
If the 29-year-old doesn't commit to his future at the Lions, then the possibility of his exit will become highly likely.
Buendia will be placed on the transfer list at Villa Park if the forward can't agree to fresh terms in Birmingham and West Ham United's Crysencio Summerville is being eyed as a replacement.
The attacker got back into Unai Emery's plans in the 2025-26 campaign, making 36 Premier League appearances and playing a key role in lifting the Europa League title.
With the Argentine ace largely playing on the left wing for the Birmingham club, the Spanish manager is now looking to rejuvenate that area with a fresh face.
Crysencio Summerville part of Aston Villa transfer shortlist
West Ham winger Summerville could possibly sign for Villa in the coming weeks to bolster their attack ahead of next season.
Bologna's Jonathan Rowe, Newcastle United star Harvey Barnes and Borussia Dortmund's Karim Adeyemi are also being eyed by the Lions.
According to Turkish journalist Ferhat Kiziltas on 12 June, Galatasaray are monitoring Bunedia's situation at Villa Park, and he could be included in any potential deal for midfielder Gabriel Sara, who plays for the Super Lig club.
Summerville, 24, is part of the Netherlands squad for the 2026 World Cup and enjoyed a decent Premier League campaign at London Stadium despite the Hammers' eventual relegation.
Crysencio Summerville future hangs in balance at West Ham
Sources told Football Insider in May that West Ham were anticipating offers for Summerville at the end of the season amid their relegation battle
Now that the Hammers find themselves in the Championship, it wouldn't be surprising to see the Dutch forward look for a move away from London Stadium sooner rather than later.
While the Irons wouldn't want to lose a key player like Summerville, as Nuno Espirito Santo hopes to win immediate promotion to the Premier League, they may have a hard time keeping the attacker amid plenty of interest in him.
