Aston Villa fans were once again furious with Evann Guessand after he put in a lacklustre performance in Aston Villa’s 3-1 victory against Indonesia All Stars.

It was a routine victory for Unai Emery’s side, with many players putting in a solid shift.

Many players were given a chance to impress, including Guessand, who started the match as Villa’s striker.

However, the 25-year-old failed to impress once again, and the Villa Park faithful were quick to share their thoughts on his performance on social media.

The striker has been a flop at the Birmingham outfit since his move to the club from Nice last summer.

This saw Guessand loaned out to Crystal Palace for the second half of the 2025-26 campaign, but his form did not improve, resulting in his return to Villa this summer.

Evann Guessand fails to impress for Aston Villa yet again

This pre-season was a chance for Guessand to work his way back into Emery’s plans.

The manager is clearly on the hunt for attacking reinforcements this summer, and would have hoped that the striker could prove himself on Saturday.

However, against a considerably weaker opposition, he did nothing of note before he was taken off at half-time.

As a result, Aston Villa fans were far from impressed and quickly took to X to condemn the display as Guessand’s struggles at the club continue.

What business could Aston Villa conduct this summer?

Former Aston Villa scout Mick Brown exclusively told Football Insider that Emery is prepared to let Emi Martinez depart this summer.

The goalkeeper has long been linked with an exit from Villa Park, with Juventus a reported interested party.

The 33-year-old is also reportedly interested in a move away, and he could now get his wish.

Despite being scheduled to return to pre-season training, an offer could now be accepted for a discounted price this summer.

A deal could now be done as soon as possible, as all parties look to avoid any late transfer window drama.

However, it remains to be seen who Villa look to bring into the club over the next few weeks as they prepare for both their Premier League and Champions League campaigns.
