Newcastle United fans are convinced that Aston Villa will win the race to sign Feyenoord’s star man Anis Hadj Moussa this summer.

The Magpies have been searching for a winger this summer after the departure of Anthony Gordon, and have been linked to the 24-year-old throughout June.

It was reported on Tuesday that Hadj Moussa has his eyes set on the Premier League, with Newcastle in discussions over a potential summer swoop.

However, amid reports that Aston Villa are also in the race, many Newcastle fans now fear that they will miss out.

The Magpies have constantly been losing out on their targets over the past year, with Victor Munoz recently making the move to Liverpool.

Now, there are fears that this could be repeated with the Algeria international as Eddie Howe looks to build a squad capable of achieving European qualification once more.

Newcastle fans cannot see Anis Hadj Moussa signing this summer

Newcastle supporters have repeatedly seen their club miss out on its top targets in recent years.

Last summer, they were unable to win the race to Hugo Ekitike or Benjamin Sesko, who moved to Liverpool and Manchester United.

This was then repeated earlier this month, when the Reds confirmed the capture of Munoz.

As a result, with Sky Sports reporting that Villa are interested in Hadj Moussa, many Newcastle fans believe that their club will not do enough to complete the signing.

Is Hadj Moussa good?

If Newcastle were able to bring in Hadj Moussa, the club would have an excellent player on their hands.

According to Fotmob on 30 June, the winger averaged 0.39 goals, a 0.24 xG, 2.71 shots, 0.21 assists, a 0.40 xA and 2.71 successful dribbles per 90 minutes in the Eredivisie last season.

If these stats were able to be replicated in the Premier League, it would make the star an excellent replacement for Gordon for the upcoming campaign.

On top of this, with Hadj Moussa still being fairly young, there is every chance he could develop into an even better player over the coming season.

Nevertheless, it remains to be seen if the Magpies are able to win the race for the Feyenoord star over the coming months.
