Who is Anis Hadj Moussa? Everything Newcastle fans need to know about winger target
Anis Hadj Moussa is reportedly on Newcastle's radar as they eye some attacking additions in the summer transfer window.
Eddie Howe needs to add some reinforcements to his attacking ranks in the coming months following a disappointing 2025-26 campaign.
He has already seen Anthony Gordon depart for Barcelona, while Harvey Barnes and Anthony Elanga have also been linked with exits.
Sky Sport CH have claimed that Newcastle are in the hunt to sign Feyenoord forward Hadj Moussa, with Aston Villa also believed to be keen.
They have been encouraged to make a move for the 24-year-old, as he prefers a move to England over Saudi Arabia, with Pro League sides also in the race.
The Algerian international star has been a standout for Feyenoord over the last two seasons.
He would be a stellar addition to the Magpies' ranks, and Football Insider have looked at everything their fans need to know ahead of his potential arrival.
Who is Anis Hadj Moussa?
Hadj Moussa was born in Paris and played for some local youth sides before joining the Lens academy as a 16-year-old in 2018.
He first played professional football for Lens B in the French fifth tier during the 2021-22 season, but failed to make the step up to their first team.
Hadj Moussa made his professional breakthrough in the Belgian third tier at Olympic Charleroi, with eight goals in 33 games in his debut campaign.
Another move to Patro Eisden and a loan switch to Eredivisie club Vitesse saw his stock rise, and he went from the Belgian second tier to Champions League football in months.
Feyenoord snapped up Hadj Moussa in 2024 for around £3million in 2024, and he made an instant impact with 11 goals and three assists in 43 appearances in his debut season at the club.
Just months before the move, in March 2024, he made his international debut for Algeria, and he now has 17 caps to his name and is currently representing his country at the World Cup.
The 24-year-old, who primarily plays on the right wing, has continued to shine at Feyenoord and notched 14 goals and seven assists in 40 games last season.
Could Anthony Elanga leave Newcastle this summer?
Sources have told Football Insider that Newcastle will be one of the busiest Premier League clubs this summer.
They have already allowed several first team stars to leave since the last campaign ended, with Elanga possibly set to follow in the coming months.
Nottingham Forest have already been mooted to try and re-sign the right winger, after he struggled to make an impact on Tyneside last season.
New links to Hadj Moussa could heighten rumours around his future, with Howe aiming to change up his squad in search of more success.
