Sources: Aston Villa work on final forward signing to follow Ibrahim Mbaye deal
Aston Villa are still in the market to add another winger to their squad after they sign PSG star Ibrahim Mbaye, sources have told Football Insider.
The Villans have reached an agreement to sign the 18-year-old for a fee of around £47million, but are still hopeful of adding another new face in the wide areas.
Unai Emery is pushing the club hierarchy to bolster his forward line once more ahead of Tuesday's 11pm transfer deadline.
The second city outfit are currently exploring the winger market in the final hours of the deadline, but sources say that any deal will still have to work for them in terms of SCR.
Villa have earned big money from the sales of Morgan Rogers and Ollie Watkins, but remain tightly constrained by the Premier League's SCR rules.
They are still hopeful of getting a deal for another winger over the line before the deadline, but it is likely to be dictated by their finances.
Unai Emery still unhappy with attacking options
Villa endured a difficult start to the league season last time out, and they will be extremely wary about a similar scenario playing out again.
They have already moved to bring in Nicolas Jackson as Watkins' replacement, but it is clear that the boss remains unsatisfied by his attacking options.
Mbaye's imminent arrival should help to rectify that to some extent, but Emery is keen to push right until the deadline for another addition.
He will have to balance their league campaign with another Champions League run this term, and for that, greater depth is a must.
Aston Villa make offer for Amad Diallo
Football Insider revealed on Monday that Manchester United have no intention of selling Amad Diallo ahead of the deadline,
The Ivorian is currently sidelined through injury, but recent reports have suggested that Villa have submitted an offer to sign him.
They are huge admirers of the 24-year-old wideman, but Michael Carrick still sees him as part of his long-term plans at Old Trafford.
Villa's desire to bring in one more winger is clear, but it is highly unlikely that man will be Diallo.
