Sources: Man United’s Amad Diallo sale stance revealed after Aston Villa offer

Manchester United have no intention of selling winger Amad Diallo amid interest from Aston Villa, sources have told Football Insider. 

The Red Devils have no intention of opening the door for the Ivorian to leave Old Trafford, especially to join a Premier League rival. 

The 24-year-old has been sidelined at the start of the season through injury, but remains a key part of Michael Carrick’s long-term plans. 

Recent reports have suggested that Villa have submitted an offer to sign the starlet, but United have no intention of entertaining advances. 

Joshua Zirkzee is seen as the most likely candidate to depart ahead of Tuesday’s 11pm transfer deadline, and Carrick and Co. will not consider losing a second attacker. 

Diallo has developed dramatically in recent years, and is expected to be a key player for United again when he returns to full fitness.

Man United still see Amad Diallo as a future star

Diallo’s progression at Old Trafford in the last few seasons has been clear, and the club still believe that he can continue on that upward trajectory long-term.

Last season only brought two goals and three assists in all competitions, but he excelled back in 2025-25 with 14 goal involvements in just 26 Premier League games. 

He remains under contract in Manchester until the summer of 2030, meaning there is no financial pressure on United to cash in on him any time soon. 

With that in mind, Villa are set to be thwarted in their attempts to sign Diallo in the final stages of the window, with United not tempted by the offer of quick cash.

Carrick is hoping to progress the team again in 2026-27, and has no intention of weakening his group as a result.

Marcus Rashford to Chelsea update

Football Insider revealed on Sunday that there is very little chance of Marcus Rashford leaving United to join Chelsea in the closing stages of the window. 

The Blues have become the latest team to be linked with a late move for the England international, who started for the Red Devils in their win over Ipswich last weekend. 

However, Carrick intends to keep the 28-year-old around, as he looks to ensure his squad has sufficient depth ahead of their Champions League campaign getting underway.

Rashford’s future has been hugely uncertain in the last 12 months, but it is now clear that he still has a role to play at Old Trafford.
