“His Tottenham career is hanging by a thread,” Hutton told Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge.

“All of that points towards that. If he’s not in the squad, even though it’s the Conference League you’re still playing in Europe. He’s nowhere near it at the moment.

“It looks like Tanganga’s got the shirt and it is his to lose. They’ve obviously got Doherty there who the manager knows well. If he wants to be a bit more attacking or play three at the back Doherty can play.

“If he wants to play four with someone defensively strong Tanganga can play. They’ve covered a couple of bases there.

“It’s not looking great for Aurier. Within him, there is a good player but it’s the concentration side that lets him down. He can have an excellent game but then he’ll something will happen and he’ll switch off.

“If you’re pushing for that top four you can’t have that. You’ve got to be defensively tight and strong every single game and I’m just not sure that he gives you that.”

In other news, Tottenham have been told to strike a “brilliant” swap deal by after a Man City Source’s Harry Kane bid update.
