Guillem Balague has delivered a critical update on the talks involving Leeds United and manager Marcelo Bielsa.
The prominent Sky Sports journalist has said that Bielsa does not have a work permit yet, but that he will receive one if and when he signs a contract with Leeds.
Balague adds more critical detail as well, saying that Bielsa’s brother, a top lawyer, has a contract from Leeds that the club is hoping he signs.
Not true Bielsa has work permit as that will come when/if he signs contract that is now in his brother's hands, a top level lawyer in communication with Leeds. Club very hopeful of things moving positively but no timetable to when confirmation (or the opposite) will take place pic.twitter.com/4kNliLmeIA

Football Insider verdict:
It’s like a return to the glory days for Leeds, with some of the world’s biggest journalists taking time out to follow the Bielsa story. Leeds fans will just be desperate for some definitive news though, as these talks are dragging on and on. The latest word yesterday was that the ball was in Leeds’ court. If Balague has got this right then it’s back with Bielsa now as the two sides negotiate the terms of his contract with extreme diligence. There’s never been any talk of the ongoing negotiations being anything other than positive, but at some point they might hit an impasse. Time difference is proving an issue as well, and definitely making the process take long than perhaps it should. One thing is certain, Bielsa obviously dances to his own tune and still holds a lot of power. Too much for Leeds? Time will tell, but with pre-season edging ever closer, things need to happen fast or Leeds’ rivals will steal a march on them in terms of transfers. Come on Bielsa, sign the paper already!
