Bayer Leverkusen and Galatasaray have joined Leeds United, Rangers and multiple top clubs in the race to sign Newcastle United wide man Jacob Murphy, Football Insider can reveal.

A source has told Football Insider German and Turkish big hitters Leverkusen and Galatasaray have set their sights on super-quick Murphy as he has only a year left on his St James’ Park contract.

Rangers

He is also on the radar of Leeds, Burnley, Southampton, Watford and Scottish giants Rangers.

Murphy, who was signed for £10million in 2017, is currently valued at £3m by Newcastle United.

The converted wing-back has played some of the best football of his career since dropping deeper this season.

He ended the season with three goals and four assists in 31 games across all competitions after forcing his way into the side.

The Englishman spent the previous campaign on loan with Championship side Sheffield Wednesday as he went 18 months without appearing for Newcastle.

However, he has attracted suitors from top teams after reviving his career.

Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa is known to like versatile players as converted midfielder Ezgjan Alioski spent the majority of the season at left-back.

Murphy has been a long-term target of Steven Gerrard and Rangers and they were keen on a move in the January window and last summer.
