BBC pundit shares what Tottenham must do in transfer window, names duo in TOTW
By Danny Wright
Garth Crooks has named Tottenham duo Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen in his team of the week.
The BBC pundit added that he believes it could be a big summer for Spurs and admits that the ‘transfer vultures’ will be circling their top talent after what has been a great season for the club.
Crooks was clearly impressed with how the midfielders played in the 2-0 victory against Arsenal at White Hart Lane on Sunday.
Alli, 21, opened the scoring for Mauricio Pochettino’s side before Harry Kane doubled the advantage from the penalty spot.
Crooks believes that the English midfielder is starting to turn up in the big matches, but warns Spurs that they must keep hold of their top talent in the transfer window in order to win silverware.

“For Alli to score in a North London derby fits his profile perfectly. He’s becoming the man for the big occasion,” the former Tottenham and West Brom player said on the BBC Sport website.
“What Spurs must ensure now is that the transfer vultures do not destabilise this team. If this team can stick together and continue to mature, trophies will inevitably follow.”
Eriksen has played a starring role in the midfield this season and Crooks has waxed lyrical about the way he dictates matches.
“Spurs are looking exceptional at the moment and much of their quality is coming from the Dane. The gifts he is producing for Dele Alli and Harry Kane are just wonderful,” he added.
Sunday’s win for Tottenham ensured that they would finish above North London rivals Arsenal for the first time in 22 years.
Pochettino’s men moved four points behind Premier League leaders Chelsea with the victory, who had beaten Everton 3-0 earlier in the day.
Tottenham’s brilliant season has no doubt been triggered by Alli’s performances this season.
The former MK Dons midfielder has earned all the plaudits by scoring 21 goals and supplying 11 assists in 46 appearances across all competitions.
