Benitez told to make Kean an Everton mainstay after Echo transfer update
Noel Whelan has urged Rafael Benitez to give Moise Kean another chance at Everton after failing to find a buyer this summer.
The former Leeds striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, suggested the Italian hitman could turn his fortunes around given the opportunity.
As reported by the Liverpool Echo (August 13th), Everton are struggling to secure a move for the 21-year-old after recent developments across Europe.
It is said Lionel Messi’s move to PSG has likely ended a chance of the striker returning to the French giants.
Meanwhile, Inter Milan are reportedly not interested in replacing Romelu Lukaku with the Everton hitman.
As such, Whelan has suggested Benitez should give the young forward a chance to impress.

Whelan told Football Insider’s Russell Edge: “A player you paid a lot of money for. It hasn’t worked out for him in the Premier League.
“He did very well at PSG which you’d expect, playing in probably the most dominant side in France. They still didn’t manage to win the league.
“I’m sure Rafa Benitez, the experienced manager that he is, knows, he’ll be looking at him, watching him in training. Monitoring his character, the effort that he’s putting in.
“Does he want to play for Everton? Does he want to fight for it? Or are his services wanted elsewhere and abroad and away from Goodison? He’ll be weighing everything up.
“They don’t have a huge abundance of strikers so I think he might be worth keeping him the early stages. See how he fights, see how he gets on.
“You never know, his fortunes may change in the Premier League for Everton this season.
“You’ve got to give everybody the opportunity I think, especially for a new manager.”
