Betting latest: Liverpool installed favourites to sign 23-year-old PSG attacker

Liverpool have been installed as the favourites to sign Paris Saint Germain attacker Julian Draxler this summer, according to the latest bookmakers’ odds.

Sky Bet have priced the Merseyside giants at 4/1 to sign the 23-year-old left-winger before the September transfer deadline.

Fellow Premier League giants Arsenal trail behind the Reds at odds of 9/1, while Barcelona are priced in third at 14/1.

The odds follow on from PSG bringing in Neymar in a world record deal from Barcelona, which has reportedly put a lot of the attackers’ futures at the French capital club into doubt.

Now, Draxler, who made the switch to PSG from Wolfsburg as recently as January would seemingly fit into that criteria.

Liverpool themselves were also linked with a move for the Germany international seven months a go and the Times claimed that they were set to rival PSG for his signature.

However, Jurgen Klopp’s side could now have the former bright prospect back in their sights with the future of current star Philippe Coutinho’s thrown into doubt amid reported interest from Barcelona.

Since his move to France Draxler has bagged a fine 10 goals in 25 appearances in total while also turning provider on three occasions and Klopp may view him as a good alternative to the Brazilian.
