Former Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal is the new second favourite to be made the next permanent Everton manager, according to the latest bookmakers’ odds.
SkyBet have van Gaal, 66, priced at 100/30 to replace Ronald Koeman in the Goodison Park hotseat as his odds continue to dramatically tumble.
On Monday, the Dutchman was third favourite for the job, priced at 7/2, however it seems that the price keeps getting shorter and shorter for the ex-Old Trafford boss to make a return to Premier League football.
Watford manager Marco Silva (4/6) remains favourite to become Koeman’s successor on Merseyside after it was widely reported that Everton had made a series of approaches for the Portuguese.
Current caretaker manager David Unsworth (4/1) is now third in the running after the odds of van Gaal returning to England were shortened.
Van Gaal has been out of work since being sacked by Man Untied at the end of the 2015/16 season, two days after he had overseen the Red Devils lifting the FA Cup.
The Dutchman has enjoyed a glittering career in European management that has seen him take charge of some top clubs including Ajax, Barcelona and Bayern Munich.
In 1995, van Gaal led Dutch titans Ajax to the Champions League title and has also won seven league titles with four different clubs.
In other Everton news, Tottenham have made an approach for this Toffees attacker – but it’s not Ross Barkley.
