'Bilic must be over the moon' - Exclusive: Whelan makes major West Brom player claim
Noel Whelan was full of praise for Hal Robson-Kanu as the forward scored a brace as West Brom picked up three points away to Bristol City last weekend.
The former Leeds United striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Dylan Childs, claimed the 30-year-old who is “a real handful” on his day is coming into form at the right time for the Baggies.
Robson-Kanu scored one in either half as Slaven Bilic’s side tightened their grip on top spot with a 3-0 victory at Ashton Gate.
The opening goal of the game came from loanee Callum Robinson as he continued to impress following his loan move from Sheffield United in January.
When asked for his verdict on the experienced striker’s performance on Saturday, Whelan told Football Insider: “He is one of those players that can be a bit hit and miss on his day. Sometimes he misses chances but he is a handful, he really is.
“He is big, strong, runs the channels and takes centre-halfs out of their comfort zones, takes them where they do not want to be.

“Bilic must be over the moon because he is adding goals to it. He has got everything you would want from somebody leading the line. Most importantly, he is coming into a good run of form now, at the important stage of the season.”
The Wales international has scored 9 goals in 28 appearances for the Baggies this season – with only 15 of those starts.
The former Reading player was signed by former manager Tony Pulis in the summer of 2016 and has gone on to make 122 appearances for the West-Midlands club.
In other West Brom news, Darren Bent had told Football Insider he was blown away by Baggies ace in Bristol City win.
