Manuel Lanzini has revealed that he is enjoying his time in East London and is already looking forward to the upcoming season at the London Stadium, despite heavy speculation about his future.
Lanzini has experienced a decent second season with West Ham, notching up eight goals and providing two assists in 34 Premier League appearances.
Among the West Ham faithful, the Argentine will be remembered for scoring the winning goal against bitter rivals Tottenham in the 1-0 victory at the London Stadium that ended Spurs’ slim title chances.
Speaking with the club’s official website, Lanzini delivered his verdict on the season and he made it clear that he would like to continue playing football for West Ham.
“The season was good for me on a personal level,” said the Argentinian star. “At the beginning it was not great as I suffered an injury on international duty in pre-season, but then I could achieve a good level,” he stated.
“Dimi is a great player. He left and it was not a good news for the squad but luckily at the end I had a very good season.
“For now, I am thinking of the next game then thinking of having good holidays with the family. I am very happy here.
“Next year, if we work hard, we will get a better result.”
Lanzini’s performances throughout the season saw him named West Ham’s Players’ Player of the Year in their end of season awards.
West Ham travel to Burnley on the final day of the Premier League season and Lanzini can finish as the club’s top goalscorer if he manages to bag himself a hat-trick on the day.
In other West Ham transfer news, the Hammers are sweating over a deal for this Premier League defender.
