Sources: Bournemouth in pole position to sign Dann after Crystal Palace exit
Bournemouth are in pole position to sign Scott Dann after his Crystal Palace exit, Football Insider has learned.
The defender, 34, is available on a free transfer after leaving Selhurst Park at the end of last month.
A recruitment source has told Football Insider that Bournemouth are leading the chase for Dann.
The experienced centre-back is admired by Scott Parker, who is keen to recruit a defensive leader for his side’s Championship campaign.
The former Blackburn Rovers star has made 241 Premier League appearances as well as more than 170 in the EFL.
Palace, who are preparing for life under new boss Patrick Viera, released an astonishing 22 players this summer and Dann was among them.

Andros Townsend, Patrick van Aanholt, Mamadou Sakho, James McCarthy, Connor Wickham, Nathaniel Clyne and Dann’s former centre-back partner Cary Cahill were all let go.
Bournemouth meanwhile are recovering from missing out on promotion to the Premier League after losing in the play-off semi-finals.
They are under new management in the form of Parker and have made their first signing of the summer in ex-Brentford attacking midfielder Emiliano Marcondes.
Dann scored 16 times in 181 appearances for Palace after signing from Blackburn in 2014.
He was part of the side that lost to Arsenal in the FA Cup final in 2015-16.
In the previous campaign, Dann was named Palace’s Player of the Year.
The Liverpudlian has also spent time with Coventry and Birmingham City after graduating from Walsall’s academy in 2004.
