Bournemouth’s stance on accepting Tyler Adams offer revealed after Liverpool twist
Bournemouth have no plans to let Tyler Adams leave the club as Liverpool boss Andoni Iraola keeps tabs on his availability, according to Football Insider's sources.
Iraola is keen to bolster his midfield options before the end of his first transfer window as Liverpool manager.
The Basque boss has admitted that his squad looks "quite thin" ahead of their season-opener against Newcastle on Sunday.
Curtis Jones is expected to seal a move to Inter Milan in the coming days, with Bournemouth man Adams on the Reds' radar as a result.
As I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider's Transfer Insider podcast, the Cherries will stand firm against letting Adams leave to reunite with Iraola at Anfield before the deadline passes.
He has also emerged as a target for some other Premier League sides after impressing on the south coast under Iraola in the last two seasons.
Tyler Adams to Liverpool yet to advance despite Andoni Iraola interest
Adams is yet to feature under new Bournemouth boss Marco Rose as he recovers from an injury picked up at the World Cup with the USMNT.
The 27-year-old featured 26 times for the Cherries last season and ended the campaign with standout defensive statistics compared to other Premier League midfielders.
Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, I explained: "There are the obvious links with Tyler Adams and Andoni Iraola, having worked together at Bournemouth, and worked successfully as well.
"I don't think there is anything advanced or pressing that Liverpool are pursuing a move for Tyler Adams, and also I think Bournemouth have no plans to lose the American international as well.
"They've been batting off interest in a number of their top players this summer, and the same would count for Adams. They don't want to lose him. He still has two years left on his contract as well."
Adams is also on Newcastle's radar following Man United links
Adams' impressive performances in red and black have not only seen him attract interest from his old Cherries boss.
Sources have exclusively revealed to Football Insider that Newcastle have shortlisted Adams as a target for their midfield after the departures of Sandro Tonali and Bruno Guimaraes.
Recent reports have also claimed that Man United are considering a bid for the USA star, with Bournemouth believed to value him at around £35million.
