Bournemouth's Alex Scott has become of the Premier League's most rapidly rising stars, earning his England call-up in this window.

The 23-year-old played the final 20 minutes of the Three Lions' win over Czechia, before making his full international debut in the 7-0 win over Croatia.

While he was seemingly the only player beyond the defensive line to start and not grab a goal contribution, it was still a fine performance from the Cherries star.

Clubs up and down the Premier League have paying attention to his performances at the Vitality Stadium, including Chelsea and Liverpool.

The Blues even failed with a bid for the midfielder during the summer window, with Marco Rose able to keep hold of the talented star.

However, it would now appear that the under-pressure manager will be without his most important player for a significant period of the season.

Alex Scott faces the consequences after playing through the pain

Scott played 69 minutes against Croatia before being replaced by Everton's James Garner, but that was likely to be planned by Thomas Tuchel.

Instead, talkSPORT's Alex Crook has revealed that the player could be sidelined for two months, having played through the pain on Saturday, 3 October.

It is understood that Scott picked up the injury ahead of the convincing 7-0 win, and rather than not risk him, the Bournemouth man started the game.

It could be a devastating blow, with the Cherries sitting 17th in the Premier League table, and Rose has every right to be furious with the England staff.
