Bournemouth are eyeing a move to sign Hearts and Scotland Under-16s goalkeeper Finlay Jamieson, sources have told Football Insider.

The teenager is very highly regarded at Hearts, and they hope he can continue his positive development at Tynecastle shortly after his 16th birthday.

However, a number of clubs in the English top flight have had scouts tracking his performances for club and country at youth level over the last 12 months.

Bournemouth are among those who have been seriously impressed by his displays, and are keen to lure him south of the border as part of their plans to strengthen the academy.

While Hearts are reluctant to lose one of their brightest young prospects, they may struggle to see off interest from Premier League clubs due to his age.

Jamieson is not eligible for a professional contract until he turns 17 next summer, opening the door for a potential move away, with Bournemouth now poised to swoop.

Why do Bournemouth want to sign Finlay Jamieson?

Bournemouth and a number of other Premier League clubs have been seriously impressed by Jamieson's performances at academy level both for club and country.

His displays for Hearts' academy sides have caught the eye, while he has established himself as an important part of a talented group for Scotland at Under-16s level.

Bournemouth are keen to bolster their youth ranks as part of their long-term plans to build the club for the future after establishing themselves in the Premier League.

The Cherries are undergoing major changes off the pitch, and have recently appealed a decision to deny their academy Catergory One status as part of a training ground overhaul.

Recruiting top young talents from around world football, including the likes of Jamieson, has become a key target in that respect as they aim to further strengthen their youth sides.

Hearts face potential exodus of stars at all levels

Growing fears that Jamieson will be lured away from the youth setup at Tynecastle this summer have come alongside their concerns about the first-team squad.

Hearts have already lost five players on permanent deals this summer, including a number of their star players who played key roles as they finished second last season.

Most notably, Football Insider reported that Rangers were closing in on Cammy Devlin, who ultimately made the move to Ibrox at the end of last week.

Devlin has followed his former manager Derek McInnes and former teammate Lawrence Shankland to Rangers, in a huge blow to Hearts' plans.

Now, they are fearful of losing further key players both at first-team and academy level in what is proving to be a frustrating summer for them.
