Brenden Aaronson has very recent beef with latest Leeds transfer target Ladislav Krejci

Brenden Aaronson may be a little shocked by the news that Leeds United are keen to try and sign Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Ladislav Krejci this summer.

The Whites have identified the Czech international as a clear target to strengthen their backline this summer, with the centre-back set to be relegated to the Championship with Wolves at the end of the season.

Daniel Farke’s side are among a number of Premier League clubs who are lining up a move for the 26-year-old this summer, according to Express and Star journalist Liam Keen, and they have already opened discussions with intermediaries.

Leeds are yet to make official contact with Wolves regarding their interest, as a battle looks set to potentially ensue for his signature.

News of Leeds’ interest in Krejci comes after they beat Wolves 3-0 on Saturday to all-but secure their Premier League status, and Aaronson engaged in an altercation with the man who could soon become his teammate.

Brenden Aaronson’s clash with Ladislav Krejci on Saturday

Leeds piled yet more misery on Wolves on Saturday afternoon, as they dismantled the Premier League’s bottom club at Elland Road.

The visitors’ frustration was clear during another chastening defeat in their campaign, and Aaronson and Krejci came together at one stage during the second half.

The American was fouled by the Wolves man and got back up to his feet to push him in the back while he walked away from the incident.

Krejci went to ground and began clutching his head in an attempt to try and gain further punishment for the Leeds star, and his attempts to get him sent off left former PGMOL chief Keith Hackett frustrated in the aftermath of the game.

Hackett exclusively told MOT Leeds News after the game that he felt Krejci should have been booked for his reaction to the incident, while making it clear that he was disappointed that referee Farai Hallam didn’t apply a punishment.

Aaronson’s beef with Krejci appeared to be little more than tensions briefly boiling over during an important game, and there will surely be no issues carried over if they become teammates next term.

Krejci pursuit shows Jaka Bijol exit fear at Leeds

Football Insider revealed back in February that Leeds will consider big offers for Jaka Bijol this summer, amid interest from Liverpool ahead of the upcoming window.

The Slovenian has quickly made a name for himself as part of the Whites’ defensive unit, and he has been a crucial part of the back three that looks set to keep them in the division for next term.

However, news of the interest in Krejci perhaps indicates that Leeds are a little more fearful of a potential exit for Bijol than they have let on so far.

Plenty of depth will be needed if Farke is continue playing with three at the back next term, but this link is surely a case of Leeds trying to cover themsleves from inevitable interest from elsewhere.
