Brighton's response to Tottenham and Man United about Fabian Hurzeler moves revealed
Brighton have no intention of allowing Fabian Hurzeler to leave in the near future, sources have told Football Insider.
The Seagulls have enjoyed a strong start to the new season and currently sit third in the Premier League table after three wins from their opening five games.
Following their 3-0 win against Arsenal last time out, the boss has come in for major praise, but has also been spoken about in connection with bigger jobs in the Premier League.
As I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider's Transfer Insider podcast, Brighton are delighted with Hurzeler and will not entertain talks about his departure.
The 33-year-old signed a new contract in May to commit his long-term future to the South Coast club, with his new deal set to run unitl 2029.
Agreeing a new contract for the boss was designed by Brighton to deter any of his potential suitors, but that has not stopped the likes of Man United and Tottenham from looking.
How do Brighton feel about losing Fabian Hurzeler?
Former Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider back in April that Brigthon were set to do everything in their power to keep Hurzeler at the club.
That came amid links with a move to Bundesliga outfit Bayer Leverkusen, who have been long-term admirers of his, and ultimately resulted in him penning a contract extension.
Now, amid renewed speculation about interest from some of the Premier League's biggest clubs, the Seagulls stance is being made clear that they do not want to lose him.
Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, I explained: "It would take a lot for them to let him go any time soon, because Brighton do not want to lose Fabian Hurzeler.
"He's done a great job down on the south coast, he's really made big strides at Brighton and helped the club make some real progress.
"Hurzeler is attracting a lot of attention because of what he's done at Brighton with his aggressive style of football and an attacking style as well, so no surprise that maybe other clubs are looking at him.
"But Brighton are quite relaxed on this one and he was rewarded for his progress with the new contract in May to keep him at the club until 2029."
Could Premier League rivals look to land Hurzeler?
Brighton's resolve over Hurzeler could be tested in the coming weeks and months, with their early-season performances and the manager's success catching the eye.
A nunmber of top clubs both in the Premier League and across Europe are already considering managerial changes, and could turn to the Brighton boss as a replacement.
Brown told Football Insider on 22 September that both Man United and Tottenham are "very keen" on Hurzeler and could look to lure him away from Brighton.
With Michael Carrick and Roberto De Zerbi both facing intense scrutiny in their current roles, it may not be long before Man United or Spurs decide to pull the trigger.
After impressive results like the 4-0 win against Aston Villa, 5-0 against Coventry, and most recently the 3-0 dismantling of Arsenal, Hurzeler is held in very high regard.
