Steve Bruce had some constructive comments for Aston Villa teenager Keinan Davis after he impressed in the game against Preston North End.
In an interview after the game with Sky Sports, Bruce spoke highly of the teenager who had just won the Man of the Match award for his efforts.
He said: “He’s got a big future the kid, we think.
“He’s got to improve a little bit on his finishing and he’s still got a long way to go, of course, but he has showed remarkable form over the last few weeks for where he’s come from.
“The big thing is he must maintain it and keep going.”
The 19-year-old striker started the game due to main striker Jonathan Kodjia being unavailable after sustaining an injury against Birmingham City on Sunday.
The hot prospect has featured 13 times for Aston Villa this season across all competitions, scoring two goals in the process.
Davis was promoted to the first team squad in the summer from Aston Villa’s U-23s, and has been with the club since 2015.
The young talent was acquired from Biggleswade Town after previously playing for Stevenage’s U-18s.
Davis is also capped at youth international level, having played one game for the England U-20s.
The striker’s Man of the Match performance, despite not scoring, aided Aston Villa in their 2-0 victory over Preston North End.
The victory sees the Villans move into the play-off positions, and sit in fifth place in the Championship.
