Aston Villa fans were ecstatic over their captain John Terry’s performance in the 2-0 victory against Preston North End on Wednesday night.

The 2-0 victory at Deepdale saw the Villans move up into the play-off places, where they sit in fifth, three points clear of seventh placed Leeds United.

Villa’s goals were provided by James Chester and Robert Snodgrass, as they caused Preston to slump to a third successive defeat.

Terry helped Villa record their second successive clean sheet in the Preston game, after previously helping his side keep Birmingham City from scoring on Sunday.

The 36-year-old joined Aston Villa in the summer after playing 691 games for Chelsea and winning five Premier League titles.
