Caixinha gives strange tactical advice to Rangers opposition ahead of clash v Celtic
By Danny Wright
Pedro Caixinha has strangely advised opposing managers to “provoke” Alfredo Morelos when they play Rangers this season.
The Light Blues are gearing up for a big Old Firm clash with Celtic at Ibrox on Saturday and Morelos, 21, is being touted as one of the key players in Caixinha squad ahead of the fixture.
However there are concerns about the Colombian striker’s discipline going into the game after he was lucky to escape a red card for a flashpoint in last weekend’s win at Partick Thistle.
Caixinha has now made it clear that it is a weakness to Morelos’ game and for some reason has decided to make it public knowledge that Brendan Rodgers and other Scottish Premiership managers should know to rile up the striker.
“If I was an opposition manager I would say to my team to provoke Morelos, this is why he must remain calm under pressure. It will happen,” said the Portuguese manager in his pre-match press conference on Thursday, as quoted by Rangers’ official Twitter account.

Morelos has hit the ground running since he signed for Rangers from HJK Helsinki in the summer transfer window, scoring eight goals in 10 appearances across all competitions – five of which come in his last three league outings.
Celtic won all but one of their six meetings with the Gers last season, including two 5-1 victories for Rodgers’ men as they asserted their dominance of their Glasgow rivals.
In other Rangers news, John Brown has issued a warning about the clubs’ summer signings ahead of the clash with Celtic.
