Campbell: Arsenal will sell Nketiah and teen sensation will replace him
Kevin Campbell has claimed Arsenal will sell Eddie Nketiah and replace him in the first team with teen sensation Folarin Balogun.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Gunners and Everton striker claimed he can’t see a future for the 22-year-old at Emirates Stadium.
The Athletic reported on 10 June that Nketiah has been offered a new contract by Arsenal as they look to “protect their investment”.
Fabrizio Romano reported on 14 June that West Ham, Watford, Crystal Palace and Bayer Leverkusen are all interested in the striker’s signature.
It comes after Football Insider revealed on 5 June that the London club are willing to listen to offers for Nketiah this summer.
Campbell suggested the club were right to offer the England Under-21 captain a new deal.

“If you are going to sell somebody you need to play the percentage game,” he told Football Insider.
“It looks like Arsenal are going to play the percentage game with Eddie. I think it is smart business from the club, especially if they know where they are going to sell him on.
“I cannot see a long-term future for him at Arsenal. Now that Folarin Balogun has signed a new deal it is going to be difficult to get game time as a striker at Arsenal.
“He played a few games last season but he was never really a regular and I think Balogun will be the one that has that role in the first team next year.”
