Campbell 'cannot believe' Arsenal missed out on Abraham signing after footage emerges

Kevin Campbell “cannot believe” Arsenal did not push harder to sign Tammy Abraham from Chelsea this summer.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Highbury favourite claimed his former side “missed a big trick” by not signing the 23-year-old.

Arsenal were one of a number of Premier League clubs credited with an interest in Abraham prior to his £34million move to AS Roma.

The striker has shone in his first three appearances for Jose Mourinho’s side and has contributed one goal and two assists.

His build up play has been particularly impressive and a compilation of his brilliant skills have already been posted on a personal Twitter page.

When asked if Arsenal would be regretting not signing Abraham, Campbell told Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs: “Honestly, do not get me started!

“It looks to me like he has been freed. He has had the restrainers off.

“Boy is he a handful. He would be in any league.

“I truly believe Arsenal missed a trick because we still do not have anyone up the top end of the pitch who is a physical presence. Abraham causes teams a problem just by being there.

“It is a big trick missed. I cannot believe we didn’t go for it.

“Abraham does not get the credit he deserves. He is a damn good player. I have been watching him since he was in the youth teams. I could tell back then that he was going to be some player.”
