Campbell can't believe Arsenal treatment of Saliba after Ornstein reveal
Kevin Campbell is baffled by William Saliba’s treatment at Arsenal as the defender nears a loan move to Marseille.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Gunners and Everton striker claimed the club should tie the 20-year-old down to a new contract before sending him out on loan for a third consecutive season.
The Athletic‘s David Ornstein reported on July 2nd that the young centre-half looks set to join Marseille on a season-long loan deal.
The agreement will not include an option-to-buy for the French giants though.
It comes after Football Insider revealed on June 22nd that Saliba was set to depart the Emirates again amid the London club’s near-£50million pursuit of Ben White.
Campbell cannot understand why Saliba has not been given an opportunity to impress in pre-season.

“I would feel a lot more comfortable with this deal if he signed a new contract before he went,” he told Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs.
“This is his third season on loan now. He is still a very young man and to say he would be one of Arsenal’s first-choice centre-backs next season is perhaps pushing it but I would like to have seen him given a chance.
“A new deal would show him that he is a part of this club going forward.
“Instead, the loan move leaves more questions than answers. He will not feel loved at all.
“He is not even getting an opportunity to show what he can do in pre-season.”
