Newcastle United have been told by Arsenal they will let William Saliba go on loan if they complete the signing of Ben White from Brighton, Football Insider understands.

United have registered their interest in taking Saliba, 20, next season and are also pursuing a new Willock deal after his dazzling loan.

A club source has told Football Insider that Arsenal are readying a new bid for White after their £40million offer was knocked back.

The Londoners will need to offload some fringe stars if they land White to trim their wage bill.

Arsenal have let it be known to Newcastle the state of play over two potential deals.

Saliba is set to depart again, although Newcastle face rival interest from Premier League teams as well as some French clubs.

Willock will also be available, although Arsenal would rather sell him permanently than green light another temporary move.

Saliba joined Arsenal in the summer of 2019 but is yet to make his senior debut for the club.

Last season, he wasn't included in Arsenal's squads and was loaned to Nice in January.

Willock joined Newcastle on loan in February and played a huge role in the club's survival bid.

He scored an impressive eight goals in his 14 outings for the Magpies.

Seven of those came in his last seven games as the Toon avoided the drop.

On 16th June, Sky Sports reported the Gunners had made a £40million move for White.

The defender is currently at Euro 2020 with England after being called up to replace the injured Trent Alexander-Armstrong.
