Campbell Exclusive: This may be Real Reason for Aubameyang horror run
Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is not receiving the “right type of service” he needs to score goals.
That is according to former Gunners forward Kevin Campbell, speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Dylan Childs about the 31-year-old’s horror run of form in front of goal.
Aubameyang has scored just two Premier League goals this season and has not scored from open play since the 3-0 opening day win over Fulham in September.
Mikel Arteta’s side have scored just 10 goals in 11 league matches this term, a 2-0 defeat to Tottenham on Sunday leaving them 15th in the table and winless in four.
Campbell urged Arsenal’s creative players to avoid high crosses and start feeding the ball to Aubameyang early and on the deck.
“Listen, Aubameyang does not thrive off high crosses,” he told Football Insider.

“He likes the ball on the floor, balls that he can run onto and finish with one touch.
“Arsenal are not that team right now and teams are not letting Arsenal be that team.
“We all knew Spurs were going to have the block and ask us to break them down. They will not mind crosses going into the box because 97 per cent of the time a Spurs head was on it. It would have to be the perfect cross to find Aubameyang.
“The issue with Aubameyang is that we are not giving him the right type of service so that he can do his thing in and around the box.
“It is frustrating for him, the club and the fans because right now he has to be perfect to get a goal and that is not what it is about. It is impossible to be perfect.”
