Kevin Campbell has tipped Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard to be sold this summer as part of a major squad overhaul.
However, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Arsenal and Everton striker insisted the 23-year-old’s exit will not be because of the club’s recent financial results.
Celtic posted a £5.9million pre-tax loss in their half-yearly accounts posted on Monday morning, with revenue severely effected by the Covid pandemic.
Football Insider understands the loss is set to lead to two big-name summer sales, with the club hoping to secure more than £30million.
Campbell is adamant Edouard will leave the club and claimed the Frenchman will have no shortage of suitors.
“I think Edouard will be leaving this summer regardless of finances,” he told Football Insider.
“Every so often Celtic have to rejig their squad. A lot of the players there helped the team achieve nine-in-a-row and they have come to the end of the tenure at the club. They need to rejig the squad this summer.
“Edouard is one that could be going. He is still being linked with a move to Arsenal.
“He is a fantastic young player who will have no shortage of suitors. In the summer a few clubs will be interested, that is for sure.”
Edouard has contributed 19 goals and four assists in 30 appearances across all competitions this season.
The striker will enter the final 12 months of his contract in June so he is likely to be available for a cut price.
