Campbell salutes Ismael after West Brom confirm 'exciting' signing

Kevin Campbell has heaped praise on Quevin Moises Castro after West Brom confirmed his arrival on a two-year deal.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Albion and Arsenal striker claimed the 19-year-old is “an exciting” player and suggested he will be a valuable member of Valerien Ismael’s squad next season.

The Baggies confirmed the midfielder had put pen to paper on a two-year deal at The Hawthorns after a successful trial period on Tuesday (13th July).

The club have inserted a 12-month extension clause in the contract of the teenager who was previously on trial with Arsenal and Chelsea.

Campbell applauded Ismael’s transfer strategy after the arrival of Castro.

“A very young and exciting player,” he told Football Insider.

“West Brom are making a lot of positive changes at the moment. I like it.

“Ismael is a young manager and he knows his stuff by the looks of it. He is trusting young players and I think this is a great move.

“Castro is a midfielder runner and he’s good on the ball. This is what you need in the Championship.

“Ismael wants to hit the ground running next season. We know they needed extra bodies in the middle of the park and they are not wasting time.

“Castro is going to be an exciting signing. I truly believe they are going to have a strong season. I’m not surprised they are one of the favourites to go back up.”
