Campbell tells Arsenal to accept £20m Leno offer as club in advanced talks to sign replacement
Arsenal should sanction the sale of Bernd Leno this summer if a bid of at least £20million arrives.
That is according to former Gunners striker Kevin Campbell, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the goalkeeping situation at the Emirates ahead of the summer transfer window.
According to Guardian, Leno could depart this summer with the player giving no indication to the club that he will extend his current contract which is due to expire in 2023.
Football Insider revealed last month that Arsenal are in talks with Brighton to sign Mat Ryan permanentlyand the latest, sources have said, is that discussions over a £3-5million deal are at an advanced stage.
Campbell believes the Australia international, who is currently Leno’s deputy, is capable of being the club’s number one next season.
“I think if we can get £20million for Leno you do the business,” he told Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs.

“We bought him for about £25million so if you can get anything around that, or maybe a little less, you get the deal sorted.
“Arsenal need a world-class goalkeeper. How they are going to do that I do not know because there are not that many out there.
“There are a lot of positions in the squad that need strengthening though so I’m not sure how plausible it will be.
“Mat Ryan is an option for cheap and then, if we sell Leno, you need another goalkeeper though.
“Ryan has done well when he has come in though so I would not be fazed if he was the number one going into next season.”
