Carragher delivers verdict on Tottenham title hopes, states what could halt them
By Dominic Toner
Jamie Carragher has suggested that away form could be an issue in Tottenham’s pursuit of the Premier League title.
Spurs have emerged as major contenders to leaders Chelsea for the crown and are just four points behind them in the table.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side have won their last seven consecutive games in the league, with two of them coming away from White Hart Lane.
They have been in formidable form at home this campaign and are unbeaten in their 17 home league games, winning 15 of them.
However, they have won just six of their 15 away games in the top flight this season.

Sky Sports pundit Carragher feels that the form of the north London club could halt them in their pursuit of the title.
“They look unstoppable at the moment, especially at home,” Carragher said on Monday Night Football. “Their away form of late has picked up and that’s what is going to stop them if anything does stop them going on to win the league.”
Spurs have now just six games remaining to overturn the deficit to Chelsea and four of their matches are away, while their home games are to Arsenal and Manchester United.
They must still travel to Crystal Palace, West Ham, Leicester and Hull during their run-in and may need maximum points if they are to lift their first ever Premier League title.
The north London club will be boosted by their recent form and will feel that they have the momentum going into the end of the campaign.
Spurs may also be looking to deal a psychological blow to Chelsea on Saturday when the two teams clash in the FA Cup semi-final.
