Celtic assistant Chris Davies has given an encouraging fitness update on striker Leigh Griffiths, stating he is travelling with the squad and available for the clash against Rosenborg.

The Glasgow giants are currently preparing to travel to Norway where they will face Rosenborg for the second leg of their Champions League qualifier.

The first leg at Parkhead ended in a 0-0 draw and the Hoops were without striker duo Moussa Dembele and Griffiths, leaving them unable to break through the sturdy defence.

However, fans will now be delighted after Davies told on Tuesday, as quoted by the official Celtic Twitter account that Griffiths will be a part of the squad.

Griffiths was usually the backup to French star Dembele in the last campaign for Celtic, but he still managed a stunning return of 18 goals in 38 matches in all competitions.

Of those goals five came in six Champions League qualifying encounters and he will be hoping for a similar return this time around as the Hoops look to face Europe’s elite once more.

However, Norwegian title winners Rosenborg will prove to be difficult foes for Brendan Rodgers and his team on Wednesday evening.

In other Celtic news, the Hoops have been installed as second favourites to sign this 22-goal English striker.
