Celtic must shut Rangers up with swoop of top-flight hitman reportedly at top of Gerrard list
With all the furore surrounding Rangers following on from Steven Gerrard’s appointment as the manager at Ibrox, Celtic can show the Light Blues who is the number one side in Glasgow by snapping up Dominic Solanke from under the noses of their fierce rivals.
The former Chelsea forward is said to be wanted by the Liverpool legend according to The Scottish Sun and they have put the 20-year-old at the top of their list of transfer targets this summer.
Despite the fact that the Hoops are on the brink of their second domestic treble in as many years, the attention Brendan Rodgers’ side are receiving as they near that historic feat is minimal compared to what is happening on the Blue side of the city.
In order to retain their advantage over the Light Blues they can not only get one over the Gers with a swoop for Solanke but also they will solve their issues in attack.
With Leigh Griffiths suffering with injuries and Moussa Dembele, as Brendan Rodgers admitted, likely to exit the club in the summer, it leaves just Odsonne Edouard as the only other real striking option – if he puts pen to paper on a permanent deal, that is.

Solanke would bolster their options in front and after being given only a handful starts under Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool, the forward would be raring to go for whichever Glasgow side.
The Hoops love any opportunity to get one over their Glasgow rivals and this transfer would certainly do that.
