Celtic 'can't get any better' as 'brilliant' new recruit confirmed - Whelan
Noel Whelan has insisted Gordon Strachan will be a “great appointment” as a consultant for Celtic.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Leeds striker claimed the 64-year-old would offer fantastic “guidance” from top to bottom.
As confirmed on Tuesday (August 10th), Strachan has rejoined the Bhoys on a three-month consultancy project.
The former Bhoys boss will oversee the club’s academy, B team and women’s team and provide recommendations for development.
He will also continue in his role as technical director at Dundee.
Whelan, who played with Strachan at Leeds and under him as manager at Coventry, insisted the Scotsman was a “really clever” appointment.

“It’s a great appointment,” Whelan told Football Insider deputy editor Russell Edge.
“He’s been doing fantastically well at Dundee, he is still keeping his role there. Everybody looks up to Gordon Strachan with what he’s done in the game.
“The fact he’s been at Celtic as well, he’s got mountains and mountains of experience in different areas and sectors of the game. I think it’s brilliant.
“For the club to get someone like Gordon in, Gavin’s there as well. You’ve got the two Strachans at the club working together. I think it’s a really, really clever appointment.
“I think Postecoglou will learn a lot of Gordon Strachan. I’m sure there will be conversations between one another.
“He knows the club, Gordon, and I don’t think you can ever have enough guidance.
“He will certainly be giving him that, helping in areas where they need it. You can’t get any better man for the job in my opinion.”
