Celtic could lose up to £9m on senior duo as club told to sell 'at any price' - McAvennie
Frank McAvennie insists Celtic have thrown ‘£9million down the drain’ with the signings of Albian Ajeti and Vasilios Barkas.
The former Hoops hitman, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claims both players have no future at Parkhead.
Ajeti, 24, has failed to make Celtic’s last three matchday squads in all competitions.
Barkas, 27, hasn’t featured in a Premiership matchday squad since the opening day of the season.
Celtic have a wealth of attacking options keeping Ajeti out of the side while Joe Hart has firmly established himself as the club’s number one.
A Celtic source had told Football Insider the club are willing to sell both players at a loss in January.

McAvennie claims the Hoops should accept any offers that come in for either player in January, even if that means making a loss.
“Where is Ajeti going to go? No one will buy him,” McAvennie told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“Having they said that they managed to sell Klimala so maybe there is hope.
“If they get an offer of £2million for Ajeti, I would snap your hands off.
“I would happily take a loss on him, get him gone. The same with Barkas. Sell them at any price.
“There is no point in loaning them out. Barkas was £4million and Ajeti was £5million.
“That’s £9million quid down the drain. That’s football though. The recruitment has been awful in recent years.
“Hopefully that is something that improves over the next few years.”
Ajeti was handed a run in the team this season before Jota and Giakoumakis were properly integrated into their new side.
He has made 44 appearances for the Hoops and scored nine goals in total.
