Celtic could sign 'three top players' after big-money Ajer exit update - Campbell
Celtic could sign up to three “top players” if they recoup £20million from the sale of Kristoffer Ajer.
That is the view of former Arsenal and Everton striker Kevin Campbell, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about Brentford and Norwich City’s pursuit of the 23-year-old this summer.
Ajer has just 12 months remaining on his contract at Celtic Park and appears destined to depart in this window.
As revealed by Football Insider (14th July), Brentford are submitting a new bid for the Norway international after their initial offer of £12million plus £3m in add-ons was rejected.
It is understood that the Premier League new-boys will return with a £15million bid that will include a higher guaranteed payment.
However, Parkhead sources have told Football Insider that the Hoops board have slapped a £20million price tag on the centre-back.

Even £15m would be a huge sum by the standards of Celtic, who have sold only two players ever for more than that – Kieran Tierney and Moussa Dembele.
Campbell believes Celtic can secure a fee of close to that amount for Ajer.
“It is a lot of money,” he told Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs.
“It is not crazy money though. let’s be honest.
“Celtic are going to want as much bang for their buck as they can get. They are in the process of a rebuild and Postecoglou will want as many funds to play with as possible.
“He wants to make some moves. He could bring in two or three top players if they get £20million for him and it’s not astronomical money.
“I think there will be a little negotiation to bring the price down slightly but I think Celtic can get somewhere between £15-20million for him.”
