Celtic Exclusive: I've been told Real Reason Ajeti barely seen at West Ham - McAvennie

Celtic and West Ham legend Frank McAvennie joined the Football Insider stable in June 2020 and has not disappointed with his own brand of unique punditry. He loves talking football almost as much as he loved scoring goals, and still has close links in the dressing room at Parkhead.

Frank McAvennie claims that Abian Ajeti fell out with David Moyes at West Ham striker after he completed a permanent move Celtic.

The Hoops and Hammers legend, speaking to Football Insider correspondent Dylan Childs, revealed he was told of a fall out between the stiriker and Moyes at the London Stadium.

Ajeti made 12 appearances for the Irons last season but failed to make a single Premier League start.

Celtic this afternoon announced the capture of Ajeti on a permanent deal after he signed a four-year contract.

McAvennie was baffled as to how the Switzerland international had struggled to break into a Hammers side playing Michail Antonio as a makeshift striker.

"He has not played at all," he told Football Insider. "I had never heard of him!

"I was on the phone to someone at West Ham and asked him what he was like.

"From what I have heard now he has fallen out with David Moyes. That is why he has not been playing.

"I was thinking if you are a striker and you are not getting on the bench when West Ham are playing Michail Antonio, a winger, up front then why would Celtic want to sign him?

"But if he has fallen out with the manager it is a different story. Otherwise I do not understand why he cannot get a game at West Ham when they have no strikers. It was confusing for me."
