Celtic fans react on Twitter to Dembele transfer speculation

By Emma Sanders

Celtic fans reacted with panic on Twitter after it was heavily rumoured that West Ham had tabled a huge £20million bid for Moussa Dembele on Thursday afternoon.

The striker has been the centre of growing speculation over his future at Celtic and West Ham have seemingly made a big-money offer for his services.

The Insider column on West Ham’s official website revealed the club have made a £20million bid for a “player from Scotland” and it is believed to be Dembele.

The Scottish Sun reported that the club were interested in the £20m-rated player, despite Celtic saying that he is not for sale.

Fans are understandably nervous about Dembele’s possible exit from the club and Celtic supporters warned West Ham to stay away when the news broke on social media.

Under Brendan Rodgers, the Celtic striker has been in excellent form throughout the 2016-17 campaign and despite a slight dip in form in recent weeks, he has already netted 19 goals in 36 appearances.

The 20-year-old, who has been tipped to become the next Thierry Henry, has already scored nine goals in the Scottish Premiership and has been a key member of the side which has climbed to the top of the table.

Dembele has been linked with a move to Manchester City, Tottenham and Manchester United among other clubs in England but West Ham are believed to be the first club to make a bid and it has not been received well by Celtic fans.

In other Celtic news, Rodgers should sign this Liverpool-favourite to replace Mikael Lustig.
