Celtic fans have taken to Twitter to blast Brendan Rodgers for his decision to axe James Forrest from the starting XI to play Rangers at Ibrox on Saturday.
Forrest, 26, has been in sensational form for the Hoops in his last two outings, scoring a brace in reach of the wins against Ross County and Dundee.
Many believed that the winger would be picked to start against the Light Blue this weekend in the first Old Firm clash of the season, however Rodgers has opted to name Patrick Roberts on the right wing in Forrest’s place.
Celtic’s team news was confirmed on their official Twitter account prior to kick-off.

Many think that Forrest may be out of the starting XI because Rodgers wants him fresh for Wednesday night’s Champions League trip to Anderlecht.
However not many games are as big as the Old Firm derby, and Bhoys supporters feel sorry for the in-form ace for only earning a spot on the bench.
Here is a selection of their tweets:
That's a sore one for James Forrest

Usually one of James Forrest biggest critics, but I’m disappointed in him not starting

As much as I'm not a Forrest fan his form has been incredible of late. Interesting and bold move from Rodgers. I agree with your 3-1 tip!

Forrest has made 15 appearances across all competitions so far this season, scoring a stunning seven goals in the process while his replacement Roberts is yet to provide anything in front of goal in his three matches since agreeing to return on another loan deal from Manchester City.
In other Celtic news, James McClean has taken a huge swipe at Rangers ahead of Saturday’s clash.
