Former Celtic attacker Kris Commons has admitted he has been blown away by new Rangers forward Jason Cummings after playing alongside him at Hibernian.
Cummings, 22, wrapped up his loan move to Ibrox on Monday as he left Nottingham Forest just months after signing for them.
The one-time Scotland international moved to the City Ground in a deal worth £1million in the summer after he helped Neil Lennon’s Hibs win the Scottish Championship title and promotion to the Premiership.
However after signing for ex-Rangers manager Mark Warburton down south, Cummings struggled for form and was completely left out of Aitor Karanka’s first matchday squad after the Spaniard replaced Warburton in charge.
Now at Ibrox, Commons expects Cummings to reach the level of performances he had with Hibs.
“Jason is a terrific player, he has a lot of ability. He just needs an arm round him,” said the Sky Sports pundit, as quoted by the Scotsman.
“I think he needs a manager who is going to send him in the right direction.
Commons added: “He can score goals, he can score spectacular goals but he has a side of him as well that can be a bit naughty.
“He is at a club now where all eyes will be on him.
“I don’t think all eyes were on him at Nottingham Forest or Hibs.”
Cummings is the latest arrival at Ibrox this month, following Sean Goss and Jamie Murphy in securing a loan move from a club in England.
The Scotland centre-forward is likely to be joined by more in due course with Norwich defender Russell Martin currently in Glasgow as Graeme Murty and Mark Allen continue their revamp of the first-team squad.
Cummings may get his first chance to impress against Fraserburgh in the Scottish Cup next week.
In other Rangers news, this international has told his agent he was to move to Ibrox.
