Celtic 27-year-old leaves no doubt for Brendan Rodgers selection problem

COMMENT
Leigh Griffiths may have started Celtic’s 2-1 win over Partick on the bench, but he surely ended the game as the Hoops’ first choice striker.
Odsonne Edouard started the game with Griffiths and fellow striker Moussa Dembele on the bench. Edouard struggled to have much impact as the Hoops trailed at half-time.
Brendan Rodgers made a change at half-time, bringing on Griffiths for Mikael Lustig and the Scotland striker caused the Jags all sorts of problems, culminating in his scoring of the winning goal.
Griffiths’ presence on the pitch seemed to galvanise the Bhoys in the second-half, as his hard work and commitment spread to the rest of his team-mates, who dominated the second-half.
The 27-year-old has had an up and down season so far, as both injuries and a loss of form have played their part.
However, he has managed to score 11 goals, including in games against Anderlecht and Rangers, found the net in his last start for the Bhoys, against Dundee on Boxing Day.
With Moussa Dembele’s future up in the air, and Odsonne Edouard still a very raw player, Griffiths deserves an extended run in the team, beginning with the game against Hibs at Celtic Park on Saturday.
