Contact made: Celtic in shock summer move for Rangers 20-year-old - report
By Matt Farr
Celtic are weighing up a shock summer move for Rangers loanee Emerson Hyndman, according to a report.
The Daily Record claim that Celtic have approached Bournemouth with an inquiry as to the availability of the youngster, who has impressed since arriving at Rangers on loan in January.
Hyndman, 20, has been one of the stars of the show during his limited time at Ibrox, and has thrived in a regular first-team role.
He has contributed four goals and three assists from 12 appearances in all competitions.
But with his loan deal set to expire at the end of the season, Celtic are now looking to strike a shock deal with Bournemouth to see him remain in Glasgow next season.

The Premier League club may allow Hyndman to negotiate a move to Celtic in the summer, due to limited opportunities in the first team upon his return to the club.
It would be a hugely unpopular move for Rangers fans though, who have had to play second fiddle to their bitter rivals this season.
It would take a lot for one of to clubs to sell directly to the other, but loan players would be an exception – although it would still be a shock move.
Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe is a fan of Hyndman and would like to see him fulfil his potential at the club, but he will also be aware of the progress he has made during his time with Rangers.
The exciting young midfielder joined the Cherries from Fulham in 2016 for a fee of £750,000, and has three years left to run on his contract.
Football Insider verdict
The current gap in points and quality between Celtic and Rangers this term is already an alarming statistic for the latter, but a summer move for Hyndman would add further misery. Hyndman has excelled since arriving in Scotland, but he may still find it difficult to establish himself as a regular first-team player for a Premier League side. Therefore, a return to Scotland remains a strong possibility; even if it means jumping across to play for Rangers’ biggest rival. Rodgers wants to add more quality to his midfield ahead of next season’s Champions League campaign, and the USA youngster will give him a few more tricks up his sleeve.
